INSTALLATION GUIDE
Please refer to the PiziLite™ HB Technical Data Sheet and MSDS for further detailed installation instructions and precautions
- Saw cut or cut back the edges of the repair to a depth of at least 10mm to avoid feather edging and to provide a square edge.
- Where breaking out is not required, roughen the surface and remove any laitance by light scabbling or grit blasting
- The substrate should be thoroughly soaked with fresh clean water and any excess removed prior to application of Ramset PoziLite™ HB.
- Prime substrate with Ramset Cemcrete™ by using a brush.
- If the repaired area is to be frequently subjected to damp or immersed conditions or remains permanently wet, Ramset Epoxy Binder should be used as the primer on all pre-existing concrete surfaces including steel reinforcement.
- Care should be taken to ensure that Ramset PoziLite™ HB is thoroughly mixed. Free fall mixers must not be used.
- Ramset PoziLite™ HB must be mixed with a mechanical forced action mixer with a high shear stirrer.
- Add 3.1 to 3.5 litres of clean water into the mixing vessel and with the mixer in operation, then add one full 20kg bag of Ramset PoziLite™ HB and mix for 3 to 5 minutes until fully homogeneous.
- Apply the mixed Ramset PoziLite™HB to the prepared substrate by gloved hand or trowel. Thoroughly compact the mortar onto the primed substrate and around the exposed reinforcement.
- Ramset PoziLite™HB can be applied up to 60mm thickness in vertical sections, and up to 80mm thickness with the use of formwork. If formwork is used, it should have properly sealed faces to ensure water is not absorbed from the repair material. In horizontal locations Ramset PoziLite™ HB can be applied up to 80mm in thickness.
- Ramset PoziLite™HB is finished by striking off with a straight edge and closing with a steel float. Wooden or plastic floats or damp sponges may be used to achieve the desired surface texture. The completed surface should not be overworked.
